Toshi

Sande no Soko

Walk

The Toshi district on Toshi Island is densely built up, with narrow lanes that form a maze-like network. Among them is a place known as Sande no Soko, where the alleys end in a dead end. Sande is a local dialect word on Toshi Island meaning “turban shell.” Like the spiral shell of a turban shell, the path leads to a dead end, making this a spot unique to the local community.
